How the CS2 Case Calculator Works
Every CS2 weapon case shares the same fixed drop odds — only the item pool changes. This tool multiplies each rarity’s official odds by the live market value of the skins in that tier to produce a case’s expected value (EV): the average amount you get back per open. We then compare EV to the true cost to open (the case plus a $2.49 key) to give a gross ROI, and subtract Steam’s 15% market fee for the net ROI — the honest number most calculators leave out.
Valve’s official drop odds
- Mil-Spec (blue): 79.92%
- Restricted (purple): 15.98%
- Classified (pink): 3.20%
- Covert (red): 0.64%
- Rare Special — knife or gloves (gold): 0.26% (about 1 in 385)
Using the CS2 case opening simulator
Every calculation is paired with a full case opening simulator. Hit Open and the reel spins just like in-game, landing on a result drawn against the real 0.26% knife odds — knives and gloves show the gold special-item marker until they reveal. Open once for the animation, or run 100 or 1,000 opens at once to watch the losses stack up. It works for every CS2 and CS:GO case, it is unlimited, and it is completely free — the honest alternative to a fake-odds csgo case simulator.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a free CS2 case opening simulator?
Yes. You can open any CS2 or CS:GO case for free, as many times as you like — no login, no real money and no real items. Unlike most case simulators, every result is drawn against Valve’s real drop odds and priced with live market data, so what you see reflects what opening the case is actually like.
How does the CS2 case calculator work?
It combines Valve’s official drop odds with live Steam Market prices for every item in a case, then computes the expected value (EV) — the average return per open. ROI is that value divided by the cost to open (case price plus a $2.49 key). The net figure also subtracts Steam’s 15% market fee.
What are the odds of unboxing a knife?
The rare special item (knife or gloves) has a 0.26% drop chance — about 1 in 385 — and it is identical in every case. Only the item pool changes between cases.
Is opening CS2 cases profitable?
No. Every case has negative expected value once you include the key cost and Steam’s fee. The best cases return roughly 85–90% of your money on average; the worst return under 30%. The calculator shows the exact figure per case.
Are the prices and odds accurate?
Odds are Valve’s official published rates. Prices are pulled from live Steam Market data and refreshed regularly, averaged across wear conditions. Individual outcomes vary with float and StatTrak, so treat EV as a long-run average, not a guarantee.
